How to paint a shiny, 3D Persimmon in watercolour
The shiny, 3D persimmon fruit is such a gorgeous and bright colour. But if we want to recreate its three-dimensional form and glossy visual texture in a painting, our main focus needs to be on balancing the tones.
In this mini class, I show you the process I followed to paint a 3D persimmon, full of shine and with its beautiful, bright colours. You’ll see how I handled the tones and balanced the contrast between the fruit’s waxy orange skin and its contrasting green, stripy sepals. Have a watch:
I hope this mini class has given you the confidence to paint your own 3D persimmon fruit.
