Thank you Anna, a very helpful video. Was thinking about painting a cardinal. Am thinking that could possibly apply the same technique. Hope both Ben and Fern are doing well. All the best
He is so cute…would love to work with you but am doing two classes now and need to find time to get everything done before I take on any more…
Thank you so much I just love watching the painting progress even though I’m not a painter myself. You do such a splendid job..
Thank you Anna for sharing so many tips for painting! I will be painting some little animals soon, so this was helpful.
So cute 🙂 Thank you!
Dear Anna as always your videos are very didactic and “appetizing”, I always thought I would never know how to paint the fur of an animal, but you make everything very easy. I don’t know if I will be able to paint it successfully, but I really want to try it, we’ll see if it works out well. Thank you very much for making any topic very easy to learn. Sorry for the translation.
Teresa.
Hi Anna,
Most have a practise, as I love Wildlife.
I am a beginner, but I absolutely loved painting this little guy and feel it turned out to be one of my best paintings so far. Would like to see more tutorials on animals. Am planning to do the hummingbird tutorials next – I know they are intermediate but want to give them a try anyway!
Loved hammy but made him too dark so great tutorial but more attempts needed.
I love everything about my membership and treasure your weekly emails, kind regards Keith
Fantastic…I love everything you do. So glad I stumbled across your website.
Thank you so so much!
Anna
I had fun doing this for my granddaughter, Leah, who has a hamster that looks just like this one. Her name is snowflake and she is a little bit grayer than the one you painted. So the fact that my painting is a little darker than yours actually worked in my favor as it looks just like her hamster. I gave her the painting for Christmas.
Hi Anna,
Love the little guy. So now – you are looking after your children and a little hamster. I can just imagine the weather is awful and you are housebound.
Please visit South African – you will love the sunshine and the plants. A very beautiful country with lots of subjects.
Take care
Rose
Anna is a very successful video, because it is difficult to keep the tones balanced in such light colors. I check your blog frequently, and a few days I will receive your book. Thanks, thanks for everything you give.
I always love to color and paint. I think I can do it this time. I will give your technique and style a try. I know that the video is a big help. Thank you Anna!
Thank you for your video Anna. I am Italian and if you write your instructions, I can translate them with Google. I don’t understand very well the English language. But your videos are very helpful and interesting.
Hi Anna,
This little fellow is soooo adorable and the painting is so realistic! Love it! Can’t wait to try to paint it myself! 🙂
Kindest regards,
Kate
Thank you for sharing this, l am about to start a weimaraner in coloured pencil but wanted to do a watercolour base. This has helped enormously
Thanks Anna!
Hahaha, that little guy made me smile and lol!
This painting is so inspiring Anna! When you did the eyes, he/she became so real! I hope you and your family are all doing well!
Now I’m off to paint some fur!
Lol, I can’t stop giggling at that little guy running on his wheel, then looking at the camera while in your desk!
Thanks for the video. WC is one of those mediums where getting too dark in the beginning is definitly easy to do. Can always go darker but not lighter unless you’re using gouche. And sometimes, less IS more.
Thanks Anna! I love this 5 minute quick tip format. I’m not a hamster fan, but I do tend to paint too dark too quickly so this was very helpful.
Thank you so much Anna for sharing so many great painting tips with us. Loved your hamster. You are super talented.
It’s very nice doing a hamster,a change from all the florals.
Thank you so much. Very helpful and inspiring. Haven’t done wc for many years. Colored pencils are what I am using now. But this video gave me inspiration to start using wc again
Loved the little hamster evolving, and love your encouragement.
Loved the video of you painting the hamster Anna.
Watching your video I know I am on the right track! I wanted to say that I purchased your brushes through Rosemary & Co. because the brushes are always the best, and they are a pleasure to work with. I’ve been working on some floral pictures as well. Thank you for the help and inspiration!
Thank you so much for sharing your talent. There are times that I don’t want to paint because I don’t want the result but your works are very inspiring to pick up that brush and paint. 🙂
Hello Anna, I’ve painted the pear and now considering signing up for your online school. Are your school tutorials as in depth as the pear or are they brief as with the mouse? With the online school, are students given the opportunity to repaint a piece if they feel they could do better? Last question, do you use the same brushes for most paintings? Many thanks
Thanks for your question Carol – we’ve emailed you in more detail, but in brief, the tutorials are full length video tutorials like the free Pear class. The Harvest Mouse class is also full length, you will have just seen a shorter overview video. As a paid member you’d have access to all 70+ tutorials and can complete them at your own pace and as many times as you like. Anna does use the same brushes for all her paintings and you can find links to buy them here: https://www.naturestudio.com/equipment/
I just finished watching your class on Bluprint. WOW! I started with watercolors when making Christmas cards this last year. That was the first time I had picked up brushes at 71 years old. I learned more from your class than anything I had read, watched or tried up to that point. Thank you for somehow making it all “click” and have just bought your Watercolour World from Amazon and waiting by the mailbox!!
